
A T20 Cricket Tournament organised by District Police Anantnag in memory of Police Martyrs concluded this afternoon at the Cricket Stadium Salia, Ashmuqam. The event, held under the Civic Action Programme aimed to promote sportsmanship, youth engagement, and community bonding.
In a thrilling final, Royal Hawks Salia defeated Friends Eleven Hangalpawa by one wicket. The winners were awarded a cash prize of ₹15,000 and a trophy, while the runners-up received ₹9,000 and a trophy. The Man of the Tournament and Man of the Match (Final) were each given ₹2,000 and a trophy in recognition of their outstanding performances. Cricket kits were also distributed among all participating teams and Man of the Match awardees of the quarter-final and semi-final rounds.
SSP Anantnag, Shri Amritpal Singh (IPS) was the Chief Guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among the players. In his address, he appreciated the enthusiasm of the participants and said that such initiatives strengthen police-public relations and motivate youth towards discipline, teamwork, and a drug-free lifestyle.
ASP North,Rameez Raja (JKPS) and SDPO Pahalgam, Farooq Ahmad, besides other officers and officials of District Police Anantnag, were also present on the occasion.
