Under the Civic Action Program, police in Kulgam organised a cricket Tournament at Mini Stadium Kulgam in which various teams from different areas of the district participated.
SSP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS inaugurated the Tournament. The tournament witnessed huge response of district players and the participating teams whole heartedly thanked Police for organising the event. During the inaugural address, SSP Kulgam appreciated and wished good luck to both the teams for playing the inauguration match of the tournament. He also stressed upon the young & budding players of the district to allow their minds to explore their own thoughts and imagination through the medium of sports and show good sportsmanship and discipline. The inaugural match was played between ACC Nehama Vs Tuskers cricket club, which was won by ACC Nehama by 3 wickets. Mudabir Manzoor of ACC Nehama was awarded with MOM for his alround match winning performance.
It is pertinent to mention here that Police organised different sports events, like Cricket, Volleyball, Cultural & other Co-curricular activities in the district for the upliftment of sports. The main aim & motive of organising such events is to develop brotherhood, love & peace & keeping youth away from the menace of Drug Addiction.
Moreover, DySP DAR Shri Mohd Ayub Rather & other senior officers of Kulgam Police and a good number of spectators were also present on the said occasion, who witnessed the event with full fervour and enthusiasm.
