The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said they are probing a fire incident in a temple in south Kashmir.
According to a police statement, a minor fire broke out at the Mata Tripura Sundari Devsar temple in Kulgam district on Thursday night.
"The incident is being investigated," a police officer in Kulgam said. Preliminary inquiry revealed a lamp could have caused the fire, he said.
“The minor fire incident in Mata Tripur Sundari (Devsar) temple is being investigated by Police. Pre Enquiry reveals #Fire happend accidentally by the DIYAs/ARTI being kept in Temple for daily routine .. No signs of Miscreant act ...Public are requested not to pay heed to rumors,” Kulgam police said.
