
Ramban, Oct 3: A police bus carrying a rescue team to the site of a passenger bus accident near Sita Ram Pass at Kela Morh in Ramban met with an accident on Saturday, leaving five police and CRPF personnel injured.
The first accident occurred when passenger bus MB37B 8989, travelling from Srinagar towards Ramban, reportedly overturned near Sita Ram Pass at Kela Morh. Several passengers were injured in the incident and were subsequently shifted to District Hospital Ramban for medical treatment.
As police personnel moved towards the accident site to assist in the rescue and evacuation efforts, the bus carrying the response team was also involved in an accident at the same location.
The police bus was carrying 12 people, including eight personnel from the Civil Police, three CRPF personnel from the 187 Battalion and the driver.
Five personnel, including three CRPF personnel and two Civil Police personnel, sustained injuries in the second accident.
Police and CRPF teams immediately reached the spot and initiated rescue efforts. The injured personnel were taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Further details about the circumstances leading to the second accident and the condition of the injured personnel are awaited.
