Preparations are underway in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district in connection with the Union home minister Amit Shah’s visit on Wednesday.
A dense security cover has been thrown around the venue, a sport stadium of a government college, where Shah is expected to address a public meeting and also meet with the locals.
Officials said that the venue has been sanitised and all the necessary drills have been performed to avoid any untoward incident. The security paraphernalia accompanying the home minister has already taken over the venue, the access to which has been restricted.
Shah on Tuesday said in Rajouri that the Gujjar, Bakerwal and Pahari communities in J&K will get reservation benefits in accordance with the recommendations of the Justice Sharma Commission which examined the issue of quota.
According to an official statement, Shah made the statement while addressing a rally organised in the town, situated at the foothills of the Pir Panjal mountain range along the Indo-Pak border.
