New Delhi, July 8: The 135th edition of the IndianOil Durand Cup was ceremonially flagged off by the President of India during a grand trophy unveiling ceremony, marking the beginning of one of Asia's oldest and most prestigious football tournaments.

The event brought together senior government officials, defence personnel, football administrators and distinguished guests, highlighting the rich legacy and enduring significance of the Durand Cup in Indian football.
During the ceremony, the President unveiled the tournament trophy and officially flagged off the 135th edition, extending best wishes to all participating teams and expressing confidence that the championship would continue to promote sporting excellence, discipline and national unity.
The trophy unveiling symbolised the commencement of the tournament, which has played a pivotal role in the growth of football in the country for over a century. The IndianOil Durand Cup, organised under the aegis of the Indian Armed Forces in partnership with the All India Football Federation (AIFF), continues to attract leading clubs and emerging players from across the country.
