The Jammu Division of Indian Railways is actively promoting digital services to enhance passenger convenience, transparency, and efficiency through its “RailOne” mobile application.
Under the guidance of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Jammu, Shri Uchit Singhal, a 21-day awareness campaign began on April 6 across major stations including Pathankot Cantt, Pathankot City, Jammu, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, and Srinagar.
As part of the initiative aligned with the “Digital India” vision, railway staff are engaging directly with passengers at stations, colleges, and universities to demonstrate the app’s features and encourage its adoption. Special help desks and awareness camps have been set up to assist users in downloading, installing, and registering on the app, with particular support provided to elderly and first-time users.
Officials highlighted that the RailOne app integrates multiple railway services on a single platform, offering features such as live train status, PNR inquiries, coach position updates, ticket booking (reserved and unreserved), complaint registration for issues like cleanliness, water, and security, and e-catering services.
SDCM Uchit Singhal said the initiative aims to extend digital railway services to every passenger, calling the app a “digital companion” that will significantly improve travel experience, especially in the high-traffic Jammu region.
Passengers have welcomed the initiative, stating that on-ground assistance has made it easier for them to use the app for real-time travel information and services. Many also urged wider outreach so more travellers can benefit from the digital platform.
