Alhamdulillah, every corner of the Kashmir Valley is moving toward new developmental goals — road connectivity, electricity, tap water, ration depots, and other essential services, thanks to schemes like the Jal Jeevan Mission and PMGSY. Yet, despite progress, unemployment among educated youth remains a concern. The government should prioritize schemes for them so that every household experiences happiness and peace of mind.
I belong to Tangnar, a belt that is fast becoming a housing and tourism hub. In the future, Tangnar will be a major tourist attraction near Doodhpathri, Budgam — a district just 12 km from Srinagar’s Lal Chowk, rich in history, spirituality, and scenic beauty. Famous sites like Charar-e-Shareef, Tosamaidan, Sukhnag, and Sotchal Pathri add to its charm.
The Beauty of Raiyar Ich
Raiyar Ich, also called the Noon Chai Village or Resting Place for Tourists, is a rapidly developing panchayat halqa with nine wards. The name “Raiyar” comes from two Kashmiri words — Rai (lost) and Yaar (friend) — given by the Sufi saint Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali (RA).
Surrounded by lush green forests and the soothing sound of the Sukh-Nag River, Raiyar offers peace and tranquility. The people are humble, living with simplicity and grace. The village is known for its rajma (kidney beans), maize bread, and walnuts.
Livelihood and Tourism
With Doodhpathri gaining fame, locals are finding new sources of income through tourism and hospitality. Thousands of youth are now engaged in this growing sector.
Local Demands
To strengthen development, locals appeal for:
1Upgrading High School Raiyar Ich to Higher Secondary – to ease education access for poor families.
2.A fully equipped sports stadium – to promote young talent.
3.A safe children’s park – for recreation.
4.Grazing land – to support traditional cattle rearing.
5.Computer skill centers – under central schemes for unemployed youth.
6.Stay-Home Scheme coverage – for livelihood and housing upgrades.
7.Improved road connectivity (Bhatti Mohallah–Tangnar Route) – to boost tourism and winter accessibility.
The Vision Ahead
With administrative support, Raiyar Ich can soon become a model village, symbolizing the harmony of development, culture, and natural beauty. Every citizen will then have reason to be thankful — to Allah and to the efforts shaping a prosperous Kashmir.
