The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSSO), Ramban, successfully organized the Inter-Zonal District Level Taekwondo Tournament for Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls at Zone Banihal, Ramban.
The one-day event saw the enthusiastic participation of 28 young student-athletes, representing zone banihal and zone Gool of the district. The participants competed with great energy, discipline, and sportsmanship, reflecting the true spirit of the game.
The event was conducted under the guidance and support of Zonal Physical Education Officers (ZPEOs), Physical Education Teachers (PETs), Rehbar-e-Khel (REK) staff, field officials, and other dignitaries, ensuring its smooth execution.
Addressing the young athletes, Mr. Jagdish Raj Sharma, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO), Ramban, emphasized the transformative power of sports in shaping character and enhancing both physical and mental well-being. He urged the youth to steer clear of drugs and negative influences, encouraging them to embrace sports as a tool for personal growth, discipline, and excellence.
Prominent figures present at the event included Mr. Mohammad Saidullah Mir (ZPEO Banihal) and Mr. Fayaz Ahmed Mir (ZPEO Khari), whose efforts were instrumental in the successful coordination of the tournament.
