Reactions pour in over NIT incident

December 03, 2023 | BK CORRESPONDENT

Tamana Shafi, a psychology student.

The incident at NIT Srinagar is regrettable, and I condemn any disrespect towards our Prophet. While justice is sought for the wrong committed, let's not fall into the trap of divisive narratives pushed by those seeking to disturb the peace from across the border.

Israar Shahid, a student activist and a writer

I deeply love and respect my Prophet (PBUH) and any form of blasphemy against him is intolerable. I commend the authorities for promptly registering an FIR in response to the incident at NIT. However, it's crucial for us to be vigilant about external elements attempting to exploit the situation. There are individuals across the border who are keen on destabilizing Kashmir and are using the NIT incident to advance their propaganda. Let's stay united against such divisive efforts and prioritize the peace and harmony of our region.

Rehana Zehra, an author and student at SP College

I unequivocally condemn the act of blasphemy in NIT Srinagar. It's crucial to address this incident locally, but let's also be aware of external elements trying to exploit it for their divisive motives.

Shafiya Showkat, a student at GWC Kupwara and a writer

Not only do we, as Muslims, cherish our Prophet (PBUH), but people of diverse faiths also hold him in high regard. I stand firmly in seeking justice for the incident. Let's be mindful that there are individuals across borders whose vested interests thrive on Kashmir's instability. They are orchestrating propaganda and exploiting the situation.

Babar Lateef, a student and a content creator

As Muslims, we are called to follow the Quran and the example of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in our actions and behavior. This includes promoting peace, justice, and compassion towards everyone, irrespective of their religion or background.

Irtiza Lone, a student at GDC Shopian and an author

Islam does not encourage violence towards non-Muslims. In fact, Islam teaches the importance of treating all people regardless of their religion or ethnicity, with justice and kindness.

Fida Firdouse, a prominent writer and research scholar

The Prophet (PBUH) has exemplified peace, harmony, and inclusivity. I unequivocally condemn the NIT student's act. Let's be aware, that there are discontented entities across borders exploiting regional stability for their propaganda and spreading hate.

Imraan Kashmiri, a student at DU and an author

The JKP has commendably acted swiftly on the NIT issue. I vehemently oppose any blasphemy against my Prophet (PBUH). I urge my student fraternity to stay calm as the administration has intervened. Beware of foreign elements trying to exploit the situation to create tensions and instability in the region.

Faisal Aslam, a poet and a writer

The NIT student should face legal consequences and must apologize publicly. I strongly oppose any blasphemous statement against the Prophet (PBUH), who preached a message of peace and love. Following his path, I urge college students to maintain calm. Beware of those exploiting the situation from across the border.
