“These fake Sufis have reduced the entire Tareeqat process merely to malicious practices that have nothing to do with real Sufism”
Pseudo-Sufis are those self-seeking individuals or groups who adopt the false Sufi practices, and symbols merely to present a spiritual image before the public. The fact of the matter is that they lack genuine understanding or commitment to the Sufi traditions. They focus on temporary states of excitement, self-indulgence, and a disregard for the core tenets of Islam and Sufism, including the importance of Shari'ah and the pursuit of lasting spiritual growth. They intend to gain worldly fame and material benefits. Whereasreal Sufism emerged in the early centuries of Islam, specifically in the second Hijri century. It was adopted by a group of devout and ascetic worshippers who built their approach based on the Quran and the teachings of the beloved Prophet. This path has a systemic history and a well-established methodology with a strong base. All Sufi Silsilas including the four Silsilas- the Chistis, the Suhrawardis, the Qadririyas, and the Naqshbandis are given first place to Sharia. Shariah is the religious obligation and the divinely prescribed limits of the Quran, Hadees, and Fiqha. The other stages viz Tariqa, Marifa, and Haqiqa are subordinate to the first one. So to identify whether an individual is real or pseudo, the clear-cut identification is to see his acceptance and practice of Shariayat in his life. How can an individual be a Sufi or Peer who is detached from the prime stage of this Sufi path? Now the question is how these so-called Sufis sustain their fabricated empire. Now and then, we hear the news that a self-styled peer indulges in stealing deceiving, harassing, or molestation. These fake Sufis have reduced the entire Tareeqat process merely to malicious practices that have nothing to do with real Sufism. It has emerged as a social menace deeply rooted mainly among the female folk. The reason may be that this group is personified by mild-heart and easy-to-motivate. They have a natural tendency to influence others. As soon as a woman becomes a follower of any pseud-peer, she starts to circulate unusual news about him and a blind race starts. The recent devilish act done by the so-called Peer is the outcome of this impaired vision. Such episodes not only hurt religious sentiments but also defamed real Sufism. It is a matter of grave concern that should be taken seriously but our so-called news reporters and social media scriptwriters glamorized that episode. They interviewed the mindless person as he had done something heroic act. This irresponsible attitude is in no way acceptable in knowledgeable societies.
