
Nishat Ansari was a dynamic personality of an exceptional talent who worked throughout his life for the promotion and propagation of Kashmiri Language, Literature and culture. Nishat Ansari has a tall stature among the scholars of Jammu and Kashmir and is rare among the rarest Kashmiri Language teachers who worked throughout his life with vision and mission. Nishat Ansari has authored dozens of books besides authoring articles, talks and features that have been published, broadcasted and telecasted from time to time. Nishat Ansari has at his back five famous poetic collections and his famous poetic collection Gulnaar stands awarded by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art ,Culture and languages. Nishat Ansari has authored a famous monograph on Prof.Mohi-ud-din. Hajini. Nishat Ansari translated Shruks of Shaikh-ul-Aalam (RA) in to Urdu and this work was published by JKAACL under the title “Salsabeel”. Nishat Ansari translated few famous books of Dr.Zakir Hussain (Ex.President of India) into Kashmiri language and this great translation work was awarded by Sahitya Akademi New Delhi. Nishat Ansari remained affiliated throughout his life with National Institutions like All India Radio, Doordarshan Kander, Sahitya Akademi, JKAACL, JKBOSE and contributed a lot to this institution out of his Adbi capabilities. Nishat Ansari contributed his best to Adbi organizations. He was founder member of Adbi organization Daira-Adab-Delina and Adbi Markaz Kamraz - a literary umbrella organization having its deep roots throughout J&K. He served as Vice president and General Secretary of AMK and is known best office record keeper of this great Adbi organization. Adbi journey of Nishat Ansari is an inspiration for all Adab lovers Nishat Ansari was born on 23th of December 1928 at Delina Baramulla. Nishat was his pen name and his name as per school records is Ghulam Mustafa Ansari. Nishat Ansari passed Matric Examination in 1969 from JKBOSE. Nishat Ansari started his government service career in the department of Co-Operatives J&K but later on resigned from this department and joined School Education Department as per his inner choice. He served in School Education Department for long twenty-three years with dedication, commitment, sincerity and honesty. On merit basis Nishat Ansari was awarded The Best Teacher Award by School Education Department. Bottom Line Nishat Sahab was a well-rounded Individual-a multifaceted personality, a poet of repute, a writer ,researcher ,translator, critic, teacher, educationist, language and culture activist and above all a good human being. Nishat passed away on 25th of August 2000 at his Delina residence Baramulla. May! his soul rest in Jana-tul- Firdous(Ameen).
