
Jammu, May 23: A grand Rozgar Mela was organised at the Convention Centre, Jammu, on Friday under the Government of India’s nationwide employment generation initiative, marking a major step towards youth empowerment and transparent recruitment.
The event was attended by Divisional Railway Manager Jammu Vivek Kumar as Chief Guest and Chairman Railway Recruitment Board Jammu Sanjay Tyagi, among other officials. The programme began with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and National Anthem, followed by a virtual address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who interacted with newly recruited youth across the country.
In his address, the Prime Minister said the occasion reflected a “transformative phase in government services” and urged the newly appointed candidates to serve the nation with dedication and integrity during the Amrit Kaal, highlighting the vision of a developed India.
At the Jammu event, 229 selected candidates received their appointment letters for various government departments, including railways, banks, armed forces, medical services, and administrative roles in Jammu and Kashmir. Appointment letters were also digitally distributed to thousands of recruits across the country as part of the nationwide drive.
DRM Jammu Vivek Kumar said Jammu and Kashmir’s youth possess immense talent and that such initiatives help channel their energy towards nation-building. He reaffirmed Indian Railways’ commitment to providing opportunities and supporting inclusive growth in the region.
