Reviewing the health sector, Sakeena Itoo stressed the need to strengthen healthcare infrastructure by operationalising identified Primary Health Centres as 24×7 facilities, improving ambulance services, expediting pending infrastructure projects and ensuring proper mapping of medical blocks. She also called for enhanced diagnostic facilities, including CT scan services at the Trauma Centre, and directed that unsafe health buildings be reconstructed on priority.
The Minister emphasized transparency and accountability in project execution, directing action against officials responsible for unauthorized changes in Detailed Project Reports (DPRs). She also instructed departments to maintain transparency in tendering, discourage below-estimate bids and ensure contractors adhere to quality standards and project timelines.
Reviewing the School Education sector, she directed officials to speed up the upgradation of schools, bridge infrastructure gaps and ensure equitable distribution of educational resources.
In the Social Welfare sector, the Minister stressed expanding outreach under Central and UT-sponsored welfare schemes through awareness camps and directed intensified ICDS coverage in uncovered and left-out areas.
She also reviewed constituency-specific issues, including the completion of Government Degree College, school and hospital buildings, regulation of unauthorized constructions and identification of unsafe structures for necessary action.
Assuring the legislators that all genuine issues would be addressed on priority, Sakeena Itoo directed departments to maintain close coordination with elected representatives for effective implementation of developmental initiatives and timely resolution of public grievances.
She reiterated that strengthening public services and accelerating development across all constituencies remain among the government's top priorities.
