
Dec 2:Bringing major relief to commuters, the long-delayed Sanat Nagar Flyover in Srinagar was thrown open for traffic today after direct intervention from Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary. The project, which had overshot several deadlines the latest reported completion date being November 15 had caused persistent traffic chaos and public inconvenience.
Authorities told INB News that on the directions of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the flyover was ordered to be opened without any further delay.They added that Dy CM Surinder Choudhary, who holds the charge of the Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department, also directed the concerned officers for the immediate opening of the flyover for public use.
Officials said the work gained momentum after the Dy CM’s recent on-spot inspection, during which he pushed the department for early completion and prompt operationalisation of the flyover.
Speaking exclusively to INB News, Choudhary said“We are elected representatives of the people, and it is our responsibility to work for their betterment.”
He assured full government support to the common masses and reiterated that reducing public hardships remains the administration’s top priority.
