Srinagar, March 3: The government on Tuesday ordered the closure of all educational institutions in the Kashmir division till March 7 as a precautionary measure following protests in parts of the Valley.

Education Minister Sakina Itoo said the decision was taken to ensure the safety of students amid the prevailing situation.
“All schools, colleges and universities in Kashmir will remain closed till March 7,” Itoo told reporters, adding that the situation was being closely monitored and a decision on reopening would be taken after reviewing ground conditions.
The decision comes in the wake of protests over killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in joint US-Israeli strikes.
Meanwhile, University of Kashmir has also suspended all teaching and academic activities across its campuses till March 7.
An official notice issued by the Registrar said the decision will be applicable to all campuses of the varsity and will remain in effect up to and including March 7, 2026.
Students have been advised to follow official communications of the university for further updates.
