Noney, Sep 4: Assam Rifles under the Spear Corps conducted security meetings with village representatives and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) at Khongsang and Haochong in Manipur’s Noney district, focusing on strengthening community cooperation and addressing emerging security and monsoon-related challenges.

The interactions brought together local representatives and civil society members to discuss the security of National Highway-37 (NH-37), particularly amid the difficulties posed by the ongoing monsoon season. Participants deliberated on landslide risks, mitigation measures and the need for timely coordination to ensure safer movement along the vital highway.
Security personnel also highlighted the importance of countering misinformation and preventing rumours from creating confusion or tensions among communities. The meetings stressed the need for responsible information-sharing and timely communication of security-related developments to the authorities.
Maintaining peace and communal harmony was another key focus of the discussions. Security personnel urged community representatives and civil society groups to work collectively to preserve a peaceful environment and strengthen trust among different sections of society.
