Severe power crisis in Karnah

December 05, 2025 | BK News Service

With the onset of winter, the power crisis in Karnah has intensified, causing severe inconvenience to local residents. According to locals, unannounced and prolonged power cuts have become routine over the past several days, disrupting household activities, affecting shopkeepers, and creating difficulties for students.

Sources said that although the Power Development Department (PDD) has issued a new winter schedule, consumers complain that the department is not following the announced timetable. Residents allege that electricity goes off several times during the day, while unannounced night outages have further worsened the situation.
People said that power often disappears just minutes after being restored, leading to frequent damage to heaters, bulbs, and other electrical appliances. Students also expressed concern, stating that sudden outages during exam preparation cause major inconvenience.
The residents have urged the PDD to strictly follow the scheduled supply during winter and ensure a reliable power supply for consumers. They have also appealed to the district administration to take immediate notice of the crisis and implement effective measures so that people can get some relief during the harsh winter season.
