Hands over appointment letters to nine nominees
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah met with families of ‘martyred’ Jammu and Kashmir police personnel in Jammu today.
During a solemn ceremony, Shah handed over appointment letters on compassionate grounds to nine nominees, honouring the supreme sacrifices made by their loved ones in the line of duty.
Expressing his deep gratitude to their families and lauding the courage of the brave-hearts who had laid down their lives, Shah said, “For over three-and-a-half decades, Jammu and Kashmir has endured the scourge of terrorism. We are immensely proud of the police personnel who have sacrificed everything to protect our country, our homes and our future.”
Underlining the strides made under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Home Minister said terrorism has been significantly curbed and separatist sentiments diminished.
“While we have made substantial progress, our mission is not yet complete. The fight against terrorism continues,” he asserted.
Shah made a compassionate appeal to the Jammu and Kashmir administration to ensure the future welfare of 12-year-old Yuvraj Singh, the son of brave-heart SGCT Jaswant Singh, and recommended that his appointment be considered when he attains adulthood.
