Shopian Police organizes cricket tournament

As a part of the Police Commemoration Day observance and the ongoing week long sports activities, Police in Shopian organised a cricket tournament at Zainapora to pay rich tribute to the valiant police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

The tournament was inaugurated by Addl. SP Shopian Shri. Rameez Rashid Bhat-JKPS, in the presence of senior officers and officials of Police. The event served as a heartfelt homage to the sacrifices of the martyrs while fostering a spirit of sportsmanship, discipline and unity among the youth.
On the occasion, Addl. SP Shopian highlighted that the tournament not only reflects the strength and resilience of the police force but also aims to strengthen police public relations through community-oriented initiatives.
The participating teams, including both winners and runners-up, were felicitated for their enthusiasm, teamwork and exemplary performance.
Police reaffirmed its commitment to encouraging youth involvement in sports and constructive activities, promoting peace, unity and mutual respect within the community. Such initiatives serve as a bridge between the police and the public, fostering a safer, healthier and more connected society.
