
Mountain Research Centre for Sheep & Goat (MRCS&G), Shuhama, SKUAST-K, in collaboration with the Ganderbal Press Association (GPA), organised a plantation drive of fodder tree saplings at the Shuhama Campus on Friday.
The drive was inaugurated by Senior Scientist & Head, MRCS&G, Dr Parvaiz Reshi, along with GPA President Sofi Ayaz, in the presence of Students Welfare Officer, FVSc & AH, Dr Aijaz Qureshi; Medical Officer, FVSc & AH, Dr Parvaiz Ahmed; SHO Ganderbal Sajad Assad; DO Shuhama Riyaz Ahmad Wani; members of the Ganderbal Press Association and scientists of MRCS&G. The dignitaries planted mulberry saplings to mark the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Parvaiz Reshi said that SKUAST-K is observing plantation drives across all its campuses under a dedicated green initiative aimed at strengthening environmental conservation while supporting sustainable livestock production. He underlined the importance of fodder tree plantations, noting that they not only enhance environmental quality but also provide nutritious leaf fodder for animals at the Research Centre.
