
Srinagar, Dec 31: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Wednesday directed execut-ing agencies to expedite completion of projects under the Srinagar Metropolitan Region Develop-ment Authority (SMRDA) scheme, ensuring all pending works are finished before the end of the current financial year.
Highlighting the importance of adhering to timelines, Garg urged agencies to fast-track projects nearing completion while keeping expenditure within allocated funds.
During the review meeting, the Divisional Commissioner assessed the physical and financial pro-gress of projects including Transport Nagar at Parimpora; community facilities at Bemina, Chattabal, and Noorbagh; Bairam Hills development; and the Shopping Complex-cum-Marriage Hall at Nowhatta. Projects in Bandipora and Ganderbal were also reviewed, with authorities updating that works are progressing under revised expenditure approvals.
He further instructed departments to formally close projects that could not be executed due to fea-sibility constraints.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo; Commissioner Sri-nagar Municipal Corporation; Chief Engineer R&B; Chief Town Planner; and officers of SDA and SMRDA.
