
Jammu, Feb 1: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University conducted an online session on Career Counselling and Opportunities After Graduation on January 30th, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. The event was specifically designed for final-year undergraduate students, focusing on career options, higher education opportunities, competitive examinations, skill development, and emerging career pathways after graduation.A total of 20 participants from Jammu and SMVDU attended the session. The meeting began with participant queries and progressed to discussions on key topics, including membership in professional bodies for lifelong learning and skills enhancement. Students also addressed questions regarding scholarships for exams such as CAT, MAT, JEE, as well as inquiries about the academic infrastructure and environment at SMVDU.The panel of experts included Senior Professor Asok De, Professor V.K. Bhatt, Dr. Arti (Head, SoB), Dr. Safaq (Associate Dean), Dr. Arif Billah Dar, Dr. Rashi Taggar, and Dr. Ketan Bhatt. All queries were thoroughly addressed, and the committee resolved to organise an in-person meet at SMVDU to further acquaint prospective students with the university's academic environment.Professor Amit Kant Pandit extended an open invitation to all parents and prospective students to visit SMVDU for further consultation and guidance on career prospects. The dedicated team is available at Matrika Auditorium to address any concerns. Additionally, helplines, WhatsApp, and a WhatsApp channel have been established for support regarding academic engagement and admissions.In his vote of thanks, Professor Pandit acknowledged the encouragement received from Professor Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of SMVDU, for promoting such initiatives to enhance student awareness in J&K.
