Rajouri, Sep 13: Two minor sisters died after they were bitten by a snake in a village in Rajouri district.

Officials said the incident took place in Manma Barmari village of Kalakote sub-division in Rajouri late Friday night when the two girls were sleeping in a room along with their family members.
They said the two minor sisters identified as Amiba (5) and Amiza (3) were bitten by snake and died while being referred to hospital.
According to officials, a snake appeared on the bed and bit both the sisters.
The family members noticed the reptile and raised an alarm, but the children had already been bitten by then.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the village, with locals demanding preventive measures and better medical facilities to deal with such incidents.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and launched an investigation.
