Sopore, Nov 23: As part of its sustained action against narcotics, Sopore Police today apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking on the Shalpora–Tujjer general road, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bomai.

A suspicious individual attempted to flee on noticing the naka party, but the alert team acted swiftly and apprehended him tactfully. On personal search, charas-like substance was recovered from his possession.
The accused has been identified as:
Faheem Sultan Wagay, S/O Mohammad Sultan Wagay, R/O Warpora Sopore
In this regard, Case FIR No. 69/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bomai. Further investigation is underway to trace the source, supply chain and forward linkages of the accused.
Sopore Police reiterates its firm commitment to maintaining zero tolerance towards drug peddling and urges the public to join hands in efforts to eradicate the drug menace from society.
