Sopore, Aug 30: Continuing its sustained action against illegal mining, Police in Sopore seized 10 motorised pumps/equipment allegedly being used for illegal extraction of minerals, besides one tractor involved in transportation of illegally extracted material, at different locations across Police District Sopore.

The seizures were made during intensified checking and enforcement against illegal mining activities. The seized equipment and vehicle have been taken into possession and necessary legal action has been initiated as per law.
Police remains committed to working in close coordination with the Geology & Mining and Irrigation & Flood Control Departments and extending all necessary assistance, as and when required, for effective action against illegal mining and related activities.
J&K Police reiterated its firm commitment to protecting the region’s natural resources and preventing illegal mining and other unlawful activities. Strict legal action will continue against individuals found involved in unauthorized extraction, transportation or other violations relating to mineral resources.
