Imphal, April : Intelligence-driven joint operations conducted by the IndianArmy and AssamRifles formations under SpearCorps, in close coordination with the ManipurPolice from March 29 to April 4, 2026, have led to significant counter-insurgency successes across multiple districts in Manipur.

The operations targeted hill and valley areas in Kakching, Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Thoubal, and Tengnoupal districts, focusing on active militant hideouts and networks involved in insurgent activities.
Through meticulous intelligence gathering, surveillance, and coordinated tactical actions, security forces were able to apprehend 20 insurgent cadres linked to various extremist groups operating in the region. The detainees are currently under investigation, with further interrogation expected to yield critical information about local militancy networks.
During the operations, security forces also recovered a substantial cache of weapons, explosives, and other war-like materials. The seized items included firearms, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and related equipment, which could have been used for targeted attacks in civilian and strategic areas.
The joint operations emphasized close coordination between army, paramilitary, and police units, leveraging intelligence inputs to ensure precision, minimize collateral risks, and maintain public safety. Community engagement and awareness initiatives were also undertaken in nearby villages to reassure residents and prevent militant influence.
Spear Corps officials highlighted that such operations are part of a sustained campaign to neutralize insurgency threats, enhance regional security, and support the Manipur government’s ongoing efforts to restore peace and normalcy.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a secure environment for residents, stressing that joint operations based on intelligence and local cooperation remain central to counter-insurgency strategy in the northeastern region.
