
Dimapur, June 7: Spear Corps successfully conducted a three-day Joint Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exercise, Sarva Suraksha 2026, in Dimapur, Nagaland, in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
The exercise focused on enhancing inter-agency coordination and improving operational readiness for responding to natural disasters and emergency situations. It brought together personnel from the Army, NDRF, and SDRF to simulate real-time disaster scenarios and joint response mechanisms.
A key highlight of the exercise was the rapid construction of a temporary bridge, demonstrating the capability of restoring critical connectivity in disaster-affected areas. The participants also carried out drone-assisted rescue operations, showcasing the use of modern technology in locating and evacuating stranded individuals during emergencies.
Throughout the exercise, agencies practiced coordinated search and rescue missions, medical evacuation drills, and logistics support operations aimed at saving lives and ensuring swift relief delivery in crisis situations.
Officials stated that Sarva Suraksha 2026 significantly strengthened multi-agency synergy and improved preparedness to deal with earthquakes, floods, landslides, and other natural calamities common in the region.
The exercise concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment by all participating forces to enhance joint response capabilities and ensure faster, more effective disaster management in future emergencies.
