Dimapur, Jan 26: On National Tourism Day, the Spear Corps organised a special educational heritage visit for youth at the INA Museum and INA Headquarters in Moirang, Manipur, commemorating the historic contributions of the Indian National Army (INA) and its legendary leader, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The initiative aimed to instill historical awareness, patriotism, and national pride among the younger generation by connecting them directly with the sites where pivotal events of India’s freedom struggle unfolded. Participants explored exhibits, documents, and memorabilia that highlighted the INA’s sacrifices and strategic role during India’s fight for independence.
Officers and guides from the Spear Corps engaged the youth in interactive sessions, explaining the historical significance of Moirang as the first Indian territory where the INA flag was hoisted, symbolising the spirit of freedom and self-determination. The visit also included discussions on Netaji’s vision, leadership, and enduring legacy, encouraging students to appreciate the values of courage, discipline, and service to the nation.
The programme reinforced the importance of heritage conservation and learning from history, while fostering a sense of collective identity and responsibility among participants to uphold India’s constitutional ideals. The visit concluded with a flag hoisting and a group pledge to honour the legacy of the INA and contribute positively to nation-building.
This initiative by the Spear Corps reflects their continued commitment to youth empowerment, historical education, and promotion of India’s cultural and patriotic heritage.
