Aizawl, Feb 5: On the occasion of World Cancer Day 2026, Indian Army and Assam Rifles units under Spear Corps conducted extensive cancer awareness initiatives across northeastern states, including Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam.

The campaigns included medical lectures, screening camps, expert symposiums, and survivor interactions, aimed at educating communities about early detection, prevention, and healthy lifestyle practices. Army and Assam Rifles personnel also carried out door-to-door outreach, engaged youth through awareness sessions, and conducted yoga capsules promoting physical well-being.
Through these activities, the forces emphasized the importance of timely diagnosis, regular check-ups, and creating a supportive environment for patients and families. Health professionals and community volunteers provided guidance on nutrition, lifestyle management, and cancer care resources, ensuring the message reached urban and remote areas alike.
