
Majuli Island, Dec 17: SpearCorps successfully conducted the airborne exercise ‘Winged Raider’ on 15–16 December 2025, showcasing the operational readiness and versatility of its specialist troops. The two-day exercise involved advanced airborne operations, including Combat Free Fall (CFF) from C-130J Hercules aircraft, GPADS (Guided Precision Airdrop System) drops, and Static-Line jumps at the Majuli Island Drop Zone (DZ).
The exercise was designed to validate and enhance the troops’ capability to rapidly deploy in diverse terrains and respond to evolving operational challenges. Each phase tested the soldiers’ precision, coordination, and agility, reflecting their high level of training and preparedness.
During the Combat Free Fall operations, paratroopers demonstrated high-altitude insertion techniques, while GPADS drops highlighted the ability to deliver equipment accurately under operational conditions.
