November 25, 2025 | BK News Service

Churachandpur, Manipur, Nov 24: In a significant step towards empowering women and enhancing community health, the Assam Rifles under SpearCorps, in collaboration with the Emmanuel Hospital Association, conducted specialized emergency medical training for 40 women in Churachandpur, Manipur.

The training program aimed to equip participants, including local doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers, with critical life-saving skills such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and other essential emergency medical procedures. By focusing on practical, hands-on learning, the initiative ensured that participants could confidently respond to medical emergencies within their communities.
During the sessions, trainers demonstrated proper CPR techniques, handling of medical emergencies like choking, cardiac arrest, and severe bleeding, and discussed the importance of quick and efficient response in saving lives. The women actively participated in simulations, drills, and group exercises, allowing them to practice skills in real-world scenarios under expert guidance.
Officials highlighted that such initiatives are part of Assam Rifles’ larger community outreach programs aimed at promoting health awareness, skill development, and resilience among local populations. The collaboration with the Emmanuel Hospital Association ensured that the training met professional medical standards, bridging the gap between formal healthcare systems and grassroots-level preparedness.
The participants expressed appreciation for the program, noting that the skills learned would help them not only in professional settings but also in safeguarding the health and well-being of their families and communities. Organizers stated that similar programs would continue in other districts, with a focus on building capacity, awareness, and emergency preparedness among women.
This initiative reflects a growing emphasis on community-centric healthcare, women’s empowerment, and proactive measures to enhance local emergency response capabilities in remote and semi-urban areas of Manipur.
