Srinagar Dist Ball Badminton championship begins

The My Youth My Pride District Srinagar Ball Badminton Championship 2025-26 for Boys and Girls commenced today at Gindun Sports Stadium, Raj Bagh, Srinagar. The event marked the start of a two day competitive championship for players across District Srinagar.

The championship is being organized by the District Srinagar Ball Badminton Association in collaboration with the J&K Ball Badminton Association. It is held under the supervision and sponsorship of the J&K Sports Council. The main objective of the championship is to promote grassroots sports and identify emerging ball badminton talent in the region.
On the opening day, the championship witnessed overwhelming participation with around 120 players competing in various matches. The opening ceremony was graced by the General Secretary of the J&K Ball Badminton Association, the Vice President of the J&K Ball Badminton Association, Executive Members of the Association, and members of the District Srinagar Ball Badminton Association.
Matches were conducted in both boys and girls categories. Players displayed strong technical skills, discipline, and competitive spirit. The quality of play reflected the growing popularity and development of ball badminton in Srinagar. Teams from different areas and schools of the district participated with great enthusiasm.
The championship aims to provide players with a competitive platform to improve performance and gain exposure at higher levels. Such events play an important role in encouraging youth participation in sports and strengthening the sporting culture in Jammu and Kashmir.
The association expressed gratitude to the Incharge Manager and staff of Gindun Sports Stadium, Raj Bagh, Srinagar for their support and cooperation. All necessary arrangements related to officiating, safety, and discipline were ensured to maintain fair play and player welfare.
The championship will conclude on 15 December 2025 with the closing and felicitation ceremony for winners and runners up. Selected players from the tournament will be considered for future district and UT level competitions.
