
District Police Srinagar has ordered the transfer and posting of more than 20 police officers, including Inspectors and Probationary Sub-Inspectors, across various police stations of the city. The transfer orders, issued on August 23, take immediate effect.
According to the orders issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar, several new Station House Officers (SHOs) have been appointed in key police stations. Inspector Mohammad Ishaq has been posted as SHO Shergari, Inspector Irshad Ahmad as SHO Khanyar, Inspector Imtiyaz Ahmad as SHO Kral Khud, and Inspector Tanveer Ahmad as SHO Bemina. Similarly, PSI Suhail Anees has been appointed as SHO Shaheed Gunj.
Inspector Wasim Jehangir has been transferred to Batmaloo as SHO, while Inspector Sheikh Wakeel Ahmad will now take charge of PS Saddar. Inspector Sabzar Ahmad has been posted as SHO Parimpora, Inspector Rabinder Singh as SHO Safa Kadal, and Inspector Irshad Ahmad as SHO Pantha Chowk.
Other notable postings include Inspector Muhammad Shahnawaz as SHO RM Bagh, PSI Amandeep Singh as SHO Chanpora, and Inspector Towseef Habib as SHO Rajbagh.
Probationary officers of the 2023 batch, who were previously holding independent SHO charges in Shergari, Khanyar, Kral Khud, and Bemina, have been directed to report at District Police Lines Srinagar as part of their practical training programme.
The reshuffle also involves internal adjustments with some officers shifted from DPL Srinagar and other wings to different police stations. Police sources said the changes have been made in the interest of administration and better policing.
The orders have been circulated to all concerned zonal SSPs, SDPOs, SHOs, and other officials for immediate compliance.
