
Srinagar police during the intervening night, recovered arms, ammunition and other incriminating material from a graveyard at Tar Natipora in Srinagar in connection with an ongoing investigation under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
Officials said a joint team headed by the Sub Divisional Police Officer West, comprising the Station House Officer Bemina, a Forensic Science Laboratory team and a Naib Tehsildar, carried out the operation with assistance from Police Station Chanapora. The action was taken in connection with Case FIR No. 119 of 2025 registered at Police Station Bemina under Section 13 of the UAPA.
During the search operation, the team recovered one Chinese hand grenade, around 20 posters, approximately 100 grams of gun powder and 10 live rounds of AK 47 ammunition. The recovery was made from within the graveyard premises and was carried out in the presence of concerned officials.
SSP Srinagar confirmed the development saying the seized material has been taken into custody for further examination. “An investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the recovered items and to identify those involved.”
