Stress Management in Classroom Engineering

No one in this world can claim to be free from stress, because stress is as natural to human existence as existence itself. Stress is basically the cognitive response or reaction to any challenge imposed by internal or external demands, characterized by the need for immediate action. Indeed, stress is associated with every obligatory aspect of life. If managed properly, stress can be utilized for the successful execution of tasks and can contribute positively to achievement. However, if it is not managed properly, stress can turn into a burden and may hinder one’s successful progress and execution of tasks. Therefore, it is very important for everyone to understand stress management. It becomes even more important in the case of students who face a classroom environment filled with numerous challenging demands.

Students should be made to understand that the classroom is like a small world where they are meant to live and grow for a particular subject and that is education. Education is the nourishment of the mind. Just as the body cannot function without food, the mind cannot grow or work properly without education. Therefore, being present in the classroom is something natural and essential for every student.
It should not feel like enforcement or compulsion to attend class. In the early stages of their academic journey, many students see the classroom as something strange or unfamiliar. Parents and teachers must work together to remove this sense of discomfort and resolve the classroom dilemma with ease and efficiency.
The classroom should be treated as a place of frank and meaningful interaction, where every instruction and direction is intended for the growth and development of the child. It is a place where every possible arrangement is made to secure the future in favor of the students. Students must understand, and must be made to understand, that the classroom is meant to facilitate their meeting with the true and most sincere friend of their life, the teacher who is genuinely concerned about their well-being and good future, and who is there to guide, protect, and support them in their journey of learning. At the same time, students should realize that they also play an important role in giving purpose and fulfillment to the life of the teacher.
Students are there to complete and add meaning to the academic life of teachers. They are extremely important for the very existence of teaching as a profession. Without students, a teacher cannot give full expression to his teaching, and without a teacher, students cannot achieve proper learning and intellectual development. Therefore, both must be brought close to each other in such a way that no unnecessary distance, fear, stress, or pressure remains from either side. When both teacher and students recognize and respect the importance of each other, the classroom naturally transforms into an environment free from stress and strain, where learning becomes meaningful, cooperative, and truly effective.
Stress management gets nourishment from the thought patterns in the mind. The formation of these thought patterns lies under the complete control of one's own human capacity. Therefore, if a student develops a pre class thought pattern along positive lines, he can truly make himself free from the impending stress within the classroom.
