Students visit Kohima orphanage

Kohima, Oct : Assam Rifles facilitated a visit by 17 students of the Capt N Kenguruse Centre of Excellence & Wellness, Kohima, to the Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home on October 4, 2026, as part of an initiative aimed at promoting empathy, compassion and community service among youth.

During the visit, the students interacted with children and residents of the home, sharing moments of warmth and companionship. The interaction provided them an opportunity to understand the challenges faced by vulnerable sections of society and appreciate the importance of kindness and emotional support.
The initiative also encouraged the students to look beyond academic pursuits and develop a stronger sense of social responsibility. Their engagement with the residents highlighted the value of empathy, dignity and community participation in building a more caring society.
Assam Rifles said such initiatives are aimed at fostering holistic youth development by encouraging young minds to actively contribute to society and develop a spirit of service.
The visit left the students with meaningful experiences while bringing moments of joy and companionship to the children and residents of the home.
