A suspicious object was detected and destroyed in North Kashmir’s Sopore area on Saturday.
An official said the object was found near Hygam along Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway.
“A joint team of Army, CRPF, and Police reached the spot and cordoned off the area. A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called in to examine the object,” he said.
The traffic movement and civilian access were restricted as a precautionary measure,” the official said.
“The BDS after examining the object destroyed it,” he said.
Later, the traffic movement was restored.
