
Srinagar, Mar 28: Social Welfare Department (SWD), SANKALP- Hub for Empowerment of Women- Mission Shakti Srinagar, today organized distribution programme of newborn baby kits to girl child at SKIMS Medical College Hospital- Bemina as part of its continued efforts to promote maternal and child welfare.
On the occasion, the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO), Srinagar distributed newborn baby kits among the beneficiaries at the hospital. The kits, comprising essential items required for the care and hygiene of newborns, were provided to support mothers during the immediate postnatal period.
While interacting with the beneficiaries, the DSWO Srinagar highlighted the importance of institutional healthcare, proper nutrition, and hygiene for both mother and child. The officer also briefed the attendees about various welfare schemes being implemented by the department for the benefit of women and children.
The programme witnessed participation from hospital staff and officials of the Social Welfare Department, who reiterated their commitment to ensuring the well-being and support of vulnerable sections of society.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Social Welfare Department for the timely assistance and appreciated the initiative aimed at safeguarding the health and care of newborns.
