The Jammu Division Club Taekwondo Championships 2024, held under the banner of "My Youth My Pride," concluded with great success. Organized by the J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA) Under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India and the J&K Sports Council (JKSC), this event marked a significant milestone in the region’s sporting calendar.
The championships, featuring approximately 450 participants across Pee Wee, Sub Junior, Cadet, Junior, and Senior categories (both Boys and Girls) from all districts of Jammu Division, showcased exceptional talent and competitive spirit.
The closing ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests:Shri Baljinder Singh, Divisional Sports Officer, JKSC, as Chief Guest, Dr. SM Bali, Former Sr. Vice President, JKTA, Mr. Haris Tokas, International Taekwondo Coach, as Guest of Honour, Ms. Ritika Salathia, Special Guest, Mr. Chandeep Singh, International Taekwondo Para Medalist, as Observer appointed by JKTA.
The event was spearheaded by Shri Rajesh Pangotra, President, JKTA, Shri Ramesh Chander Sharma, Secretary, JKTA & Shri Anuj Sharma, Organizing Secretary.
The refereeing panel for the championship included esteemed officials:Nittin Singh Rathore (NR)Amit Kumar (NR)Sushant Singh (NR)Sonam Chospal (NR)Nitish Anand (NR)Vipin Kumar (NR)Sunil Vaid (NR)Sidharth Sharma (NR)Rashmi Abrol (NR)Achutam Dev Singh (SR)Sumit Kumar.
The championship concluded with the following results:Joint Winners: Atul International Taekwondo Academy (AITA) and BSF
Runner-up: APS Taekwondo Club
2nd Runner-up: Shaurya International School.
Active Participation Trophy: United Taekwondo Academy and Sidharth Taekwondo Academy.
Best Sportsmen Spirit Trophy Ranbir Sports Club and Doon International School.
The event successfully highlighted the skills and enthusiasm of young Taekwondo athletes and is expected to further ignite interest and participation in the sport across the region.
