Tasleema Akhter seeks urgent relief for wind-hit Rafiabad

Rafiabad, Jan 24: Human Rights Defender and Chairperson ATVK Tasleema Akhter has expressed deep concern over the widespread damage caused by strong winds across various parts of the Rafiabad constituency, which has severely affected hundreds of families.

Tasleema Akhter stated that the powerful winds have damaged residential rooftops, electric infrastructure, orchards, and essential property, leaving many families in distress. She termed the situation as alarming and called for immediate intervention by the district administration to mitigate the suffering of the affected population.
She urged the District Administration Baramulla to conduct a prompt assessment of losses and ensure timely relief and compensation to the affected families without any delay. Emphasizing the urgency, Tasleema Akhter said that relief measures such as temporary shelter, restoration of power supply, and basic amenities must be prioritised.
“People should not be left helpless in the aftermath of this natural calamity. The administration must act swiftly to provide relief and reassurance to the affected families,” Tasleema asserted.
She further reaffirmed that that I stands firmly with the people of Rafiabad in this hour of need and will continue to raise their concerns at every appropriate platform until justice and relief are ensured.
