With his tearful eyes he told me how often his innovation and hard work is beset and studded with insults by those who only work for their salaries.
These things are common in our schools and society. These have been there for a long time. But a great man or a great teacher should never lose hope and should keep striving for the betterment.
Being a teacher at (Boys High School Narabal) and academic monitor. I get a chance to visit some schools in my Narabal area (Budgam).A good and hard working teacher like all other human beings suffers and has to tolerate negativity, jealousy, negligence and chaos from the colleagues surrounding him. I have seen a hardworking teacher who is trying to implement some innovative ideas in a school often lands in isolation. A famous kashmiri sentence "khushik gomut" is often used as a tag line for such a teacher (meaning this man is frustrated and dry). A teacher friend of mine told me that once he was hanging trackers on the walls of the classroom to assess the progress of the students. For a day's toil he was awarded with a sentence " This is all futile and a waste of time" by his female colleague in front of the students.

A big tragedy for a person who tries to contribute to the Uplifement of his society is when he is down played by filthy minds who do not understand him. But a great person or a great teacher should never stop his greatness and contribution to society. A great teacher keeps on working and behaves as if nothing negative happened around him.
Somebody has rightly said that a lion never cries in daylight in front of animals. A lion never allows tears to roll down in front of other animals. He keeps on behaving like a king. When it is complete darkness the lion chooses isolation and then cries over his pathetic condition.
Who forgets one of the greatest souls of islamic history that is Hazrat Ali(a.s). The greatest warrior of all time. The companion of the prophet Mohamme(PBUH). Hazrat Ali(a.s) such a great warrior and intellectual was left alone at some point of time. This great soul kept on contributing without complaining and letting people know his agony and pain. In the complete darkness this great soul used to talk to the well situated away from the city.
Galileo was punished by the Roman Catholic Church for promoting the heliocentric model (the earth revolving around the sun), which contradicted geocentric views and certain scriptures. But Galileo stood firmly towards the contribution of society. Refusing to renounce his ideas or escape Socrates was sentenced to death and forced to drink poison (hemlock).
A great teacher should Continuously try to work silently and contribute to the greater cause for students of government schools who mostly belong to the poor and downtrodden. He should be least bothered about the negative people around without jumping into the noisy conflict and futile explanations. The power of silence lies in its ability to foster growth and clarity. A pause can add more meaning than words. A great teacher approaches a challenging colleague's behavior with curiosity rather than anger, he demonstrates benevolence and gradually builds trust.
Some teachers are apathetic and enthusiastic. A good teacher removes these negative traits by silently working on his projects without direct confrontation.
A great teacher concentrates on the primary mission of educating students and maintaining a high level of professionalism rising above office drama. He uses direct and non-accusatory language.
There are difficult people in the world who are twisted and have a distorted mentality. Many are mental delinquents, argumentative, un-cooperative, cantankerous, cynical and sour in life. Many have distorted minds. To understand all is to forgive all.
We don't condemn a person who has tuberculosis. It reminds me Khalil Gibran on "The Forerunner"
" You are your own forerunner, and the towers you have builded are but the foundation of your giant-self. And that self too shall be the foundation.
And I too am my own forerunner, for the long shadow stretching before me at sunrise shall gather under my feet at the noon hour. Yet another sunrise shall lay another shadow before me, and that also shall be gathered at another noon.
