Life can feel like a beautiful dream—something we live in for a while, full of hopes, goals, and emotions. We all carry a picture in our minds of the perfect life: a life filled with happiness, peace, success, and love. This image guides our choices and gives us purpose. But, just like a dream we see at night, this life is temporary. It may seem long and full of events, but in the end, we will wake up from it, realizing how short it truly was.
Pain and Questions
Sometimes, we wake from a bad dream with our hearts racing. We may feel scared or sad, even though none of it was real. In the same way, the pain we feel in life—loss, fear, or sadness—can feel intense but is also short-lived in the grand scheme of things. Still, many of us ask: Why do good people suffer? Why do children go hungry while some who do wrong live comfortably? If God is fair and kind, shouldn’t good people always be happy and bad people punished?
Trusting God's Wisdom
The answer lies in understanding the bigger picture. God is never unfair. He is the Most Just and the Most Merciful. His knowledge is complete, and He makes no mistakes. While we may not always see fairness in this world, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. God rewards and punishes everyone perfectly—sometimes in this life, but always in the next. Everything happens for a reason, even if we don’t understand it right now.
What Makes Life Meaningful
Even though life is short, it can still be meaningful. What gives life its true value are three things:
Purpose – Knowing that we are here for a reason.
Joy and Fulfillment – Finding peace and satisfaction in what we do and how we live.
Relationships – Building strong connections with our family, our community, and most importantly, with God—the One who creates our destiny (taqdeer) and watches over us with mercy and care.
The Real Life Begins Later
One day, when this life ends, we will wake up to the real and everlasting life. It is only then that we will fully understand everything we went through. We’ll look back and realize that this world was just a dream—a test and a journey meant to prepare us for something far greater.
