
Aritra Roy from Agartala, Tripura, through his determination and perseverance achived an enviable milestone by scaling the world highest peak, Mt Everset on the morning of 19 May 2025, at 7:31 AM Nepal time.
Aritra Roy, a 35-year-old software professional from Tata Consultancy Services, Bengaluru, and a seasoned mountaineer, began his expedition on March 16 from Agartala which was flagged off by Maj Gen Suresh Bhambhu YSM, SM , Inspector General Assam Rifles (East). His journey, driven by passion and purpose, included a 20-day grueling cycling journey through challenging terrain followed by a trek to Everest Base Camp and finally the climb to Mt Everest at a height of 29,035 feet.
Assam Rifles played a pivotal role in Roy’s ambitious expedition. The Force provided logistics and moral support through out the journey, carried out liaison at important locations and provided valuable information.
Aritra Roy’s feat is not just a personal triumph but a proud milestone for Tripura and the entire North Eastern region, inspiring youth across the country to dream big and pursue excellence.
As he begins his descent from the summit and prepares for the final leg of his journey—including the Everest Marathon on 29 May—Assam Rifles joins the nation in wishing him a safe and successful return.
