Ramban, July 15: A traveller was killed after a shooting stone struck his moving car on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Trishul Morh in Ramban district on Wednesday, officials said.

The deceased, identified as Mohammad Iqbal Tantray, a resident of Seri village in Ramban district, was returning home after dropping a person in Ramban town when a boulder suddenly rolled down a hillside and hit his vehicle.

Tantray sustained critical injuries in the incident. Rescue teams immediately shifted him to the District Hospital Ramban, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further investigation.
