
Security forces on Friday launched massive search operations in different villages of the border district of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir after reports of suspicious movement.
Sources said the search operations were launched around midnight and continued throughout the day today.
“A joint team of 49 RR of Indian Army and Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K Police launched cordon-and-search-operations in several villages between Thanamandi and Manjkote sub-divisions of the district around midnight,” they said.
The search operation was launched following reports of suspicious movement in the area.
“Troops conducted extensive searches throughout the day. Even the Behrote Gali area was searched. However, there was no contact with the terrorists,” sources said.
The search operation was going on when reports last poured in, they said.
