Kargil, August 3: Army troops from the Forever in Operations Division launched relief and restoration operations in the Gund area of Hardass in Kargil district after a cloudburst triggered flash floods, officials said.

The troops reached the affected area soon after the incident and evacuated residents from vulnerable locations. They also provided first aid, drinking water, cooked meals and other essential supplies to people affected by the flooding.

Working alongside the civil administration, the Army helped clear debris and restore road connectivity. Efforts were also made to revive disrupted water and electricity services in the affected villages.

Officials said the coordinated response focused on providing immediate assistance to affected families and speeding up the restoration of normal life after the natural disaster.

The cloudburst caused flash floods in Gund, Hardass, disrupting daily life and damaging infrastructure in several parts of the area.
