Bandipora, Aug 10: Police have arrested two persons in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Police received information about the alleged incident around noon on Sunday and immediately launched an investigation to establish the circumstances and identify those involved.

During the investigation, police identified two suspects who were reportedly not previously known to the minor. The accused were arrested during overnight raids conducted at different locations, a senior police officer said.

A case has been registered under relevant provisions of law concerning offences against children. Further investigation is underway to establish the full facts and circumstances of the case.
