U-17 football: Baramulla shine, Kulgam hit 13

Baramulla, Oct 11 : The UT-Level Inter-District Football Competition for Under-17 Boys, organised by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, under the supervision of Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K, Anuradha Gupta, IAS, and hosted by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Baramulla, witnessed an action-packed third day, with 16 matches played across four venues.

At St. Joseph’s Ground A, Kulgam registered a commanding 13–0 victory over Reasi, while Jammu and Poonch played out a goalless draw. Bandipora defeated Kulgam 2–0, and Poonch bounced back strongly to beat Reasi 7–0.
At St. At St. Joseph’s School Ground B, Kupwara defeated Samba 5–0 and followed it up with a 2–0 victory over Budgam. Anantnag secured a convincing 5–0 win against Kathua, while Kathua and Samba shared points after a 0–0 draw.
At HSS Hadipora, host Baramulla delivered an impressive performance, defeating Ganderbal 5–2 and Rajouri 7–0. Doda registered a 5–2 victory over Rajouri, while Ganderbal responded with a commanding 6–1 win against Doda.
At the MET Ground, Sopore, Kishtwar defeated Shopian 4–1 and later secured a 3–0 victory over Pulwama. Udhampur edged past Pulwama 3–2 in a closely contested encounter, while Srinagar concluded the day’s fixtures at the venue with a convincing 5–0 win over Shopian.
The competition continues to provide a vibrant platform for young footballers from across Jammu and Kashmir to showcase their talent, competitive spirit and sporting excellence. With the tournament entering its fourth day tomorrow, football enthusiasts can look forward to another exciting round of inter-district encounters.
