Union Home Secy holds meeting with LG Sinha on security situation

January 16, 2026 | BK News Service

Jammu, Jan 15: Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan held high-level meetings with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and top security officials in Jammu on Thursday to review the security situation, ongoing anti-terror operations, and operational preparedness in the Union Territory.

During his two-day visit, Mohan chaired sessions at the Convention Centre, assessing inter-agency coordination among the Army, police, paramilitary forces, and intelligence agencies. Discussions focused on heightened security measures in hilly areas, border management, drone incursions, and ongoing counter-terror operations, particularly in forested and high-altitude regions of Jammu where nearly three dozen terrorists, including Pakistani nationals, are believed to be hiding.
The meetings were attended by Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, BSF Director General Praveen Kumar, CRPF chief G P Singh, J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat, and senior officials from military, police, civil, and intelligence agencies.
The review comes a week after Union Home Minister Amit Shah directed security forces to continue anti-terror operations targeting terrorist infrastructure and terror financing in a “mission mode.” Mohan’s visit aims to ensure the operational readiness and effectiveness of the security apparatus in the Union Territory.
